ruganini was born in 1803.
She married Woorrady in 1829 at Bruny Island.
In 1835 she moved to Flinders Island where she took up farming.
Her tribe, the Bruny, were victims of genocide by the Europeans.
The last full-blooded Tasmanian Aborigine died in Hobart on May 8th, 1876 aged 73.
Truganini was the first Aboriginal woman to appear on an Australian postage stamp in 1975.
Her body was in a museum before being cremated in 1976. Her 'ashes' were strewn in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
