Professor Flint is chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Authority.Professor David Flint

He is Professor of Law and former Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

From 1980 he has been a public member or Chairman of the Press Council until October 1997.

In November, 1999, Flint, known for his probity and integrity, stood down from the cash for comment inquiry, involving John Laws and Alan Jones, after he had appeared on Laws radio show speaking about The Referendum.

Flint is noted as an advocate of due legal process and of the role of law in the upkeep of social equity.
