Hit the Western Australia coastal settlement of Exmouth on March 23rd, 1999, doing tens of millions of dollars in damage, destroying 112 homes and badly damaging 224 others.

Winds of up to 270 km/h were reported and the township of 2,500 people had roofs ripped away, debris littering the streets, power-lines down, palm trees uprooted and boats torn from moorings.

Onslow to the north-east had similar damage with 70 homes affected. Shades of Cyclone Tracy in 1974?
