Australia Crest

The final official shipload of convicts arrived in NSW on 18th November, 1840, with some 80,000 having been sent to Australia, mostly in the 1820s and 1830s.

Where are they now? - all dead of course, but it would be interesting to see what their descendants are doing now.

It was botanist Joseph Banks who urged the British government to use the new settlement as a penal colony.
