Highest grossing Australian film at the nation's box office.

Released in 1986, the film is about a female American reporter, played by now Mrs. Hogan, Linda Kozlowski, being shown around the Australian bush by a larrikin outback adventurer, played by now hubbie Paul Hogan.

The pub setting was the Walkabout Creek Hotel at McKinlay, Queensland.

The film was produced by Paramount/Hoyts/Rimfire. Rimfire was owned by Hogan's mate John Cornell who played alongside Paul as Strop in the popular television comedy series of the early 80s.

Having grossed more than $47 million, the film has grossed nearly $10 million more than Babe and $22 million ahead of the 3rd placed Crocodile Dundee II.
