Colin Hay

Singer and songwriter, born in Scotland on 29th June, 1953 and coming to Australia, aged 14.

Whilst at university in Melbourne he started playing with bands, eventually ending up with what was to become Men At Work. They achieved international fame with the song Down Under, which became identified with Australia winning the America's Cup in sailing.

Other songs with the distinctive Hays voice are Who Can It Be Now, Overkill, It's A Mistake and Be Good Johnny.

The band had two smash albums Business As Usual and Cargo.

Colin has appeared on The Larry Sanders Show on TV and in the Oz film Cosi.

In fact his song Can't Take This Town has become part of TLSS. Colin met Larry (Gary Shandling) through his friends Gia Carides and Anthony LaPaglia.
