he former glamour woman of world ladies golf, blond haired and blue eyed Jan was born in Sydney on 22nd December, 1951.
In 1964 she won the first of 5 consecutive NSW Schoolgirl Championships and in 1971 was NSW Athlete of the Year.
Jan joined the LPGA tour in 1974 and that year was named Rookie of the Year.
In 1985 Jan was the first Australian female golfer to win more than $1 million in prize money and she passed the $2 million mark in 1992..
Her competition wins include the ladies' US PGA in 1982 and Open in 1983. In all she has had 16 LPGA victories and 7 other wins throughout the world including the 1973 and 1977 Australian Opens.
Jan represents the Jan line by Dunlop.
She works extensively with charities and associations such as National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Texas Chapter), junior sports and academics and has produced a video for people suffering with arthritis, selling over 100,000 copies.
Jan and three American counterparts are attempting to get a Ladies Senior Tour off the ground but are being opposed by the L.P.G.A. at this stage.
