Pat Cash

Tennis player, descended from the bushranger Martin Cash, and born in Melbourne on 27th May, 1965.

In 1981 Patrick won the junior world tennis championship.

With a big serve and an aggressive attacking style Cash was a semi-finalist at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in 1985.

In 1986 he was instrumental in Australia's Davis Cup win over Sweden.

In 1987 he won the singles title at Wimbledon beating Ivan Lendl to the headlines - 'Cash bounces Czech'.

Cash also reached the Wimbledon doubles final 2 years in a row and helped win the Davis Cup for Australia in 1986 with an upset win over Sweden.

Unfortunately Pat did not reach his full potential due to a series of injuries.

He is noted for his guitar playing and is trying to establish a film career.
