Kevan Gosper

Member of the International Olympic Committee and former Olympian. Kevan won a record five successive 440 yards national titles between 1956 and 1960.Kevan Gosper

Kevan was formerly chief of Shell Australia and has been a member of the IOC since 1977 and a member of the executive board since 1986.

On 19th June, 1999, 66 year old Gosper was elected as vice-president of the IOC, making him the likely succesor to Juan Antonio Samaranche. Samaranche retires to his summer ranch in September, 2001.

In September 1999, Kevan Gosper was a first-class passenger on the Qantas jumbo that nearly came to grief after overshooting the runway on landing at Bangkok.

Big Kev denied SOCOG acted arrogantly in the ticket allocation fiasco. Even when caught out he still tries to take us for mugs. It's a bit like John Laws saying he didn't take any money from the banks.
