Max Walker
Australia Crest

Max was born in Tasmania in 1948 and grew up around his father's North Hobart pub.

Television presenter, champion cricketer, VFL footballer, best-selling author, raconteur and larrikin. Is there no end to this man's talents? No! Then tell Channel 9 who dumped him from Wide World Of Sports before Christmas '98.

Merry Christmas and forget all the great work you have done over the years.

Walker, aka Tangles, had given 15 years service to 9 (possibly 8, with the loss of him) - cricket commentary, WWOS and to the winter broadcast in Melbourne, Footy Show. Prior to 9 he had 3 years of cricket commentary with the ABC.

His best-selling books include The Wit Of Walker, How To Kiss A Crocodile and How To Puzzle A Python.

He played 94 football games for the Melbourne Demons and 34 cricket Test matches for Australia. His unlikely bowling action earned him the name Tangles but did not stop him taking 138 wickets.

Max is one of the most popular personalities for corporate speaking engagements on the books of Saxtons Speakers' Bureau.
